Bring back a childhood memory
We had the privilege of helping an 80-something gentleman relive his childhood by restoring a cherished 1930s photo.
Once faded and nearly lost, the image now shines with new life—taking pride of place once again in his home.
The original image was badly degraded, its colours dulled and clarity lost after more than fifty years hanging in a frame.
After extensive restoration, the image was revived, though the colours of the tin vehicle had to be carefully re-imagined.
After consulting with the client and his father, who is the young man in the image, the true colours of the vehicle and its wheels were finally confirmed.
The conversation revealed the vehicle was in fact a plane, not a car—so wings and a propeller were added to bring it closer to the original.
